Two Killed in Heights Pedestrian Crash on Shepherd Drive and West 10th Street

Heights, Texas (March 31, 2019) – Two pedestrians were killed when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Heights on Saturday night, according to the police.
The crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. March 30, in the 800 block of Shepherd Drive and West 10th Street.
It’s unclear whether the pedestrian were walking along or trying to cross the street when they were struck.
The victims, a man and a woman, were rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The driver involved fled the scene after the incident. A relative reportedly advised the driver to return to the scene and she later went back.
Police said the driver did not show signs of intoxication. She was detained for questioning.
The crash is under investigation.
