23-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Motorcycle Crash on Southwest Freeway (US 59)

Houston, Texas (July 30, 2023) – A 23-year-old man was killed Thursday evening in a motorcycle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 2:15 p.m., July 27, on the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59).

Police said the man was riding a Honda motorcycle at high speed and was weaving in and out of traffic lanes. The Honda entered the lane behind a tractor-trailer truck, and the rider braked heavily before striking the rear of the trailer. The rider then lost control and fell to the ground.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene, and was questioned and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
