Mineral Wells, Texas (March 27, 2020) – Three people were hospitalized after a five-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at a Mineral Wells intersection, according to the Mineral Wells police.

The crash happened at about 12:21 p.m. March 26, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 180 and Garrett Morris Parkway (FM Road 1821).

According to police, witnesses said a small gray four-door sedan was heading eastbound on U.S. Highway 180 at a high rate of speed when it ran a red light at the intersection and hit two vehicles on Garrett Morris Parkway. The sedan also hit a box truck and pickup truck.

The sedan driver and a passenger were airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital with incapacitating injuries.

One of the other drivers had to be extricated from their vehicle and was taken to Palo Pinto General Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Five other people were evaluated and released or declined medical treatment at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
