Three Injured in Wichita Falls Two-Vehicle Crash at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Wichita Street

Wichita Falls, Texas (July 23, 2021) – Three people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Wichita Falls, according to the police.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m., July 21, at the intersection of North Martin Luther King Boulevard and Wichita Street.

Police said a white Dodge Charger was traveling westbound on Wichita Street and was traveling the wrong way on a one-way street when it failed to stop at the intersection as it turned southbound onto Martin Luther King Boulevard.

A gray Audi Q7 that was traveling northbound in the right lane of Martin Luther King crashed into the Charger as it pulled out at the intersection.

A 3-year-old who was in the passenger side of the Charger was in a child safety seat but was not secured in the seat at the time of the crash.

The child and the mother, who was the Charger driver, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The child was airlifted to Cooks Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth with serious injuries.

The Audi driver sustained leg injuries but declined to be hospitalized.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
