3 Killed in Chain-Reaction Crash on Hwy 54 near Dalhart

Three Killed in Dalhart Six-Vehicle Crash on Highway 54

Dalhart, Texas (November 5, 2022) – Three people were killed Friday afternoon in a chain-reaction crash south of Dalhart, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around noon, on November 4, on Highway 54.

DPS said traffic was stopped in a construction zone when a tractor-trailer rear-ended another tractor-trailer, resulting in a chain-reaction collision involving four semi-trucks, a pickup truck, and an SUV.

Three people were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

The crash closed Highway 54, and traffic was being diverted on FM 694.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
