3 Students Injured in School Bus Accident on Loop 7 in Athens

Three Athens ISD Students Hospitalized after Athens School Bus Crash on Loop 7 at Robbins Road

Athens, Texas (May 5, 2022) – Three Athens Independent School District students were hospitalized after a crash involving a school bus Thursday morning in Athens, authorities said.

The collision happened on Loop 7 at Robbins Road.

According to the authorities, the school bus from Athens Independent School District was heading westbound on Loop 7 when a Mustang pulled out from Robbins Road in front of the bus.

The Mustang eventually collided with the bus.

Three students on the bus sustained minor injuries and were taken to UT Health Athens.

The drivers of the bus and Mustang declined medical aid.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
