39-Year-Old Alton Man Killed in Port Arthur Two-Vehicle Crash on MLK (Highway 82)

Port Arthur, Texas (June 7, 2023) – A man was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Pleasure Island, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened shortly after 6:00 a.m., June 6, in the 3000 block of South MLK (Highway 82).

Police said a Honda Civic was traveling on the highway when the driver failed to maintain a single lane of traffic and struck an oncoming vehicle. The Civic went off the highway and into the ship channel.

Authorities found the Honda driver unresponsive in the water, and he later died. He has been identified as a 39-year-old man from Alton, in South Texas. 

The police are investigating the crash.
