Scooter Rider Hit, Killed by Vehicle on East Seventh Street in Austin

Man Killed in Austin Scooter Accident on East Seventh Street; Driver Arrested

Austin, Texas (April 29, 2022) – A scooter rider died after being struck by a drunken driver early Friday morning in Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

The deadly crash happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. on East Seventh Street.

A man was riding a scooter on East Seventh Street when he was hit by a vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

Seventh Street between Allen Street and Springdale Lane was temporarily closed while the authorities investigated the crash.

Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
