4 Injured in North Austin Bus Accident on East 53rd Street at Duval Street
North Austin, Texas (March 19, 2019) – Four people were injured Monday afternoon in a traffic crash involving a Capital Metro bus in North Austin, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened just after 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 18 on East 53rd Street at Duval Street.
As per the report, the bus collided with a pickup truck for an undetermined reason on East 53rd Street at Duval Street. The force of the impact caused the bus to crash into a nearby house that was unoccupied at the time.
Authorities said the pickup truck driver, the driver of the bus and two passengers on the bus were injured.  Five other passengers on the bus refused medical treatment.
A total of four adults were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Duval Street was closed as police investigated the crash. Cleaning and clearing operations were performed in the area.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
