4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash at SH 71 and Thomas Springs Road in SW Austin

Four Injured in SW Austin Multi-Vehicle Crash at SH 71 and Thomas Springs Road  

Austin, Texas (June 30, 2021) – Four people, including a child, were injured Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in southwest Austin, according to the authorities.

The crash happened just before 2:00 p.m., June 29, at the intersection of State Highway 71 and Thomas Springs Road.

Authorities said multiple vehicles were involved in the wreck.

One person had to be extricated from a vehicle that had damaged a hydrant and brought down wires into the roadway.

One person was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. Another adult was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A child was taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another person refused transportation to the hospital.

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

An investigation is underway.
