Five Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on South Freeway near Belfort Avenue

Houston, Texas (June 25, 2021) – Five people were injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash, involving suspects fleeing from a shootout, south of Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened shortly before midnight, June 24, on South Freeway near Belfort Avenue.

Police said two suspects were driving a bullet-riddled silver car that had been involved in a prior shootout with another vehicle when they ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, occupied by a family of five.

The suspects fled the scene on foot after the crash. They were later arrested.

The family of five were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
