73-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Three-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway

Houston, Texas (May 13, 2023) – A 73-year-old man was killed last week in a three-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 1:15 p.m., May 5, in the 300 block of Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59).

Police said a gray Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound on the freeway when the driver failed to control her speed and struck a gold Ford Escape. The impact caused the Ford to hit a gray Toyota Corolla.

The backseat passenger of the Elantra was taken to the hospital, where he died on Sunday, May 7.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The Elantra driver, a 33-year-old woman, was questioned and released.

The police are investigating the crash.
