8-Year-Old Boy Falls Off Carnival Ride at Extraco Events Center in Waco; Cody Harkness Arrested

Waco, Texas – According to the police, an 8-year-old boy was injured Saturday afternoon after falling off a carnival ride in Waco.

The accident happened around 8:00 p.m., April 6, at the Extraco Events Center.

Police said the boy fell off the carnival ride and was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.

The ride operator, 38-year-old Cody Harkness, was determined that he was under the influence and was arrested. He has been charged with intoxicated assault while operating a ride, a third-degree felony. He was being held in the McLennan County Jail.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
