84-Year-Old Woman Killed in SW Houston Ambulance Crash on Main Street at 610 South Loop

Houston, Texas (December 23, 2021) – An 84-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon in an ambulance crash in southwest Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 2:40 p.m., December 20, in the 9900 block of Main Street at the intersection of 610 South Loop service road.

Police said an ambulance was transporting the woman to a hospital for a life-threatening medical emergency and was traveling northbound in the 9900 block Main Street. As the ambulance was traveling the intersection, it was struck by a Toyota Camry, causing it to roll onto its side.

The ambulance had its lights and siren activated at the time of the crash.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hermann, where she later died. Her name has not been released.

Several other people in the ambulance sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
