9-Year-Old Girl Killed in Collin County School Bus Crash on FM 3286 at Lavon Lake

Collin County, Texas – A 9-year-old girl was killed and two other people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving a Princeton ISD school bus in Collin County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:44 p.m., January 31, on the FM 3286 bridge over Lavon Lake also known as Lucas Bridge Road.

Deputies said a Jeep Wrangler, a Chevy Express 3500 commercial truck, a Nissan Versa, and the school bus were involved in the crash.

A 9-year-old girl in the Nissan was killed in the crash. Her mother, a 41-year-old, was taken to a McKinney hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

The Jeep driver, a 20-year-old, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There were nine children on the school bus along with the bus driver and they were uninjured in the crash.

The Chevy driver was uninjured in the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
