Abigail Smith ID’d as Woman Killed in Copperas Cove Crash on U.S. 190 near Old Copperas Cove Road
Copperas Cove, Texas (August 2, 2019) – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed early Friday morning in a head-on crash south of Copperas Cove as Abigail Smith, 27.
The fatal crash took place just before 1:00 a. m. Friday, August 2 on the US 190 bypass, just west of Old Copperas Cove Road.
Authorities said Smith was driving eastbound when her Ford passenger car traveled onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with an oncoming semi-truck.
Smith was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
No further details were immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
