Alejandro Garcia ID’d as Man Killed in Corpus Christi Pedestrian Accident at Laredo and 17th Streets
Corpus Christi, Texas (March 5, 2019) – The man who was fatally struck by a suspected drunk driver at a Corpus Christi intersection Friday night has been identified as Alejandro Garcia,29, according to the police.
The accident occurred on Friday, March 1, at the intersection of Laredo and 17th streets.
Police said a car driven by Albert Martinez,35, struck Garcia for an unknown reason at the intersection.
Garcia was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, March 3.
Martinez stopped after the crash and left the scene to call the police. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and accident involving injury. He could face an enhancement because of the death of Garcia.
This accident was Martinez’s third driving while intoxicated offense, a felony.
The police are investigating the crash.
