Angela Ramirez Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Amarillo Boulevard in Amarillo

Angela Ramirez ID’d as Woman Killed in Amarillo Pedestrian Accident on Amarillo Boulevard near Eastern

Amarillo, Texas (May 11, 2023) – Authorities have identified the woman who died in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night in northeast Amarillo as 55-year-old Angela Ramirez.

At around 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, authorities were dispatched to the 5600 block of Amarillo Boulevard near Eastern to investigate a traffic crash involving a pedestrian.

When authorities arrived, Ramirez was declared dead by medical personnel.

Authorities said the driver of one vehicle at the scene was travelling westbound on Amarillo Boulevard in the far left lane. When he changed lanes into the turning lane, he felt his vehicle drive over something. He stopped, saw Ramirez in the street and called 911.

As the authorities were investigating, they found evidence of another vehicle, described as a white car, at the scene. Authorities determined that the white car was probably the vehicle that struck the woman initially, and the driver left the scene.

Anyone who may have any information on the suspect vehicle or this accident is asked to contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400, or go to their website at amapolice.org or download the P3 tips app and make a tip there.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A.
