Armando Yglecias, Joy Yglecias and Albert Yglecias ID’d as 3 of 4 People Killed in Lynn County Crash on U.S. Highway 380 and FM 179 near Brownfield

Lynn County, Texas (August 11, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified three of the four people who were killed on Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Lynn County as Armando Anthony Yglecias, 67, Joy Yglecias, 67, both of Rockwall and Albert Yglecias, 57, of Waco.

The deadly crash happened at around 2:33 p.m. Sunday, August 6, on U.S. Highway 380 and FM 179 near Brownfield.

DPS said Laurel Bush, 35, of Cleburne, Texas, was driving her vehicle on FM 179, just south of U.S. Highway 380, when she allegedly ran a red light and collided with a car driven by Armando Yglecias.

Armando Yglecias and Joy Yglecias were both pronounced dead at the scene, while Albert Yglecias, of Waco was transported to Lynn County Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Michelle Yglecias, 57, of Waco, was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition.

A passenger in Bush’s car, only identified as a 17-year-old girl, was transported to Lynn County Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Bush was transported to University Medical Center, while a 1-year-old passenger was taken to Covenant Children’s Hospital with possible minor injuries.

All parties involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts. The conditions were dry and clear.

The crash remains under investigation.
