Benjamin Conder Killed and Javier Morales Injured in Ector County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 302

Ector County, Texas – One person was killed and another was injured last Wednesday in a wrong-way crash in Ector County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:08 a.m., February 28, on State Highway 302 near Mile-Marker 258.

Authorities said Benjamin Oleg Conder, 25, of Odessa, was driving a Ford Mustang westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway when he collided head-on with a Freightliner truck with a trailer.

Conder was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Freightliner driver, Javier Arturo Morales, 29, of Odessa, was transported to Medical Center Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
