Bernard Rowland II Killed in Plane Crash at U.S. 77 and Orphanage Road in Harlingen

Bernard Rowland II ID’d as Man Killed in Harlingen Plane Accident at U.S. 77 and Orphanage Road
Harlingen, Texas (April 10, 2019) – The man who was killed Tuesday morning when his plane crashed into a South Texas field near Harlingen has been identified as Bernard Rowland II, 77, of Lasara, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly plane crash took place at around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 near the intersection of U.S. 77 and Orphanage Road, almost 6 miles (10 kilometers) northwest of Harlingen.
According to authorities, Rowland II was flying his single-engine Air Tractor 502 when the aircraft clipped a power line and crashed into a field near the intersection.
Rowland II, who was a crop duster, died in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the FAA.
