70-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal Houston Bicycle Accident on North Main Street near East 23rd

Houston, Texas (August 19, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Houston, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash took place at around 12:10 p.m. Friday, August 16 in the 6200 block of North Main Street near East 23rd.

As per the report, a 70-year-old man was riding his bicycle westbound on East 23rd when he ran a red light and was hit by a blue Nissan Frontier pickup truck that was heading northbound on North Main Street.

The 70-year-old man was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Nissan driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officers.
