Joseph Payne, Hunter Miller Killed in 2-Vehicle Accident at FM 3472 and North Avenue I in Odessa

Joseph Payne and Hunter Miller ID’d as Victims of Fatal Odessa Crash at FM 3472 and North Avenue I
Odessa, Texas (May 3, 2019) – The two people who were killed Wednesday morning in a traffic crash in West Odessa have been identified as Joseph Payne and Hunter Miller, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The tragic accident was reported at about 11:48 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at FM 3472 and North Avenue I.
According to the DPS, a Toyota Avalon driven by Joseph Payne, made an unsafe lane change while traveling westbound on FM 3427. The Avalon then collided with a Cadillac driven by Tyrice Lowery.
The force of the impact caused Payne to lost control of the vehicle and flipped over before hitting a utility pole.
Payne and a passenger in the Avalon, Miller, were taken to Medical Center Hospital and were later declared dead. A third passenger in the Avalon, Megan Cantrell, was also taken to MCH with incapacitating injuries.
Lowery and a passenger in the Cadillac, Veronica Rodriguez, were also transported to MCH with non-incapacitating injuries.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
