Andrew Sosa Jr. and Ethan Harris ID’d as 2 Victims Killed in Coleman Crash on U.S. 67 near Talpa

Coleman, Texas (December 7, 2022) – The two people who were killed in a head-on crash early Tuesday morning near Coleman have been identified as Andrew Sosa Jr., 44, of Sweetwater, and Ethan Harris, 19, of Rising Star.

The deadly crash happened at around 4:14 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, on U.S. 67, approximately 1.1 miles east of Talpa, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS said a 2020 International Truck Tractor hauling a 2020 Hyundai Semi Trailer was heading eastbound on U.S. 67 Highway 67 while a 2013 GMC Sierra Pickup, driven by Sosa Jr., was traveling westbound on U.S. 67 Highway 67.

Sosa Jr. drove on the wrong side of the roadway and collided head-on with the semi. After the impact of the collision, the pickup caught on fire.

Sosa Jr. and his passenger, Harris, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in the Semi, Alexander Hill, 31, of Copperas Cove, was not injured.

The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident. The posted speed limit in this area is 75 mph.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
