Two Women Injured in Corpus Christi Two-Vehicle Crash on Staples Street at SPID

Corpus Christi, Texas (April 18, 2021) – Two women were injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Corpus Christi, according to police.

The crash happened just before 1:00 a.m., on April 17, on S. Staples Street at the intersection of SPID.

Police said a brown pickup truck was traveling eastbound on the access road of SPID when it ran a red light and hit a blue car that was stopped.

Two women, ages 20 and 25, were pinned in their vehicle. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. One of them had life-threatening injuries.

Officers said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
