Man Dies in Austin Pedestrian Crash at Stassney Lane and South Congress Avenue

Austin, Texas (April 17, 2019) – A fatal auto-pedestrian accident left a man dead early Wednesday morning in south Austin, according to the Austin police.
The crash occurred at about 1 a.m. in the area of Stassney Lane and South Congress Avenue.
Police said a vehicle traveling northbound on Congress Avenue hit a man who was trying to cross the street.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim and the driver, who stayed at the scene after the incident, were not immediately identified by the authorities.
Police are investigating the crash.
