Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Reed Road in Sunnyside

One Killed in Sunnyside Bicycle Accident on Reed Road

Sunnyside, Texas (December 2, 2020) – A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in Sunnyside, according to police.

The fatal crash happened in the 5400 block of Reed Road.

Police said the bicyclist was rear-ended by a vehicle on the roadway.

The impact threw the bicyclist across the vehicle, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The driver left the scene, but he called a family member to tell them that he might have hit someone. He then returned to the scene and was taken into custody.

Charges against him are pending.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
