Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Vehicle on College Street in Beaumont

One Killed in Beaumont Bicycle Accident on College Street at Avenue G

Beaumont, Texas (February 15, 2020) – A bicyclist was fatally hit by a vehicle early Friday morning in Beaumont, according to the police.

The accident happened at about 2:15 a.m. February 14, in the 2500 block of College Street at Avenue G near Debb’s Liquor.

Police said the bicyclist was traveling eastbound in the far right lane of the street when he was rear-ended by a silver Hyundai accent, which was traveling in the same direction.

A deputy tried to perform life-saving efforts on the victim, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of College Street for a short period.

The police are investigating the crash.
