60-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal Houston Bicycle Accident on Old Spanish Trail

Houston, Texas (August 19, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle last week Tuesday in Houston, according to police.

The deadly accident took place at around 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, August 13 in the 4900 block of Old Spanish Trail.

Police said the bicyclist, a 60-year-old man, was trying to cross Old Spanish Trail and was outside of a crosswalk when his bicycle was hit by a silver Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound on Old Spanish Trail.

The bicyclist, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 29-year-old female driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
