Two Adults, Four Juveniles Hospitalized after Tyler Crash on Highway 64 Westbound near Toll 49

Tyler, Texas (August 5, 2022) – Two adults and four children were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision in Tyler on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source.

The wreck happened at about 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, on Highway 64 Westbound near Toll 49.

As per the report, a 2003 Freightliner box truck was heading eastbound on Highway 64W when a 2003 GMC Envoy with turned in front of it.

According to Texas DPS, at around 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, a 2003 Freightliner box truck was traveling eastbound on Hwy 64W near Toll 49 when a 2003 GMC Envoy with six occupants, including four children, 8 to 16 years of age, turned in front of it.

One of the children was airlifted to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas in critical condition. Two other children were airlifted to UT Health East Texas –Tyler, also in critical condition. The other child and two adults were also transported to UT Health.

The two people in the box truck were uninjured.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
