1 Killed in Pedestrian Crash on SH 71 in Austin

One Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 71

Austin, Texas (July 10, 2023) – One person was killed on June 24 in a pedestrian accident in Austin, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 10:26 p.m., in the 7100 block of SH 71.

Police said a sedan struck a pedestrian on the highway.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sedan driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators, and was not impaired.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8111.
