Officer Monique Escobedo Injured in Collision on Acorn Wood Road in Seguin

Officer Monique Escobedo Hospitalized after Seguin Crash on Acorn Wood Road; Alisen Webster Arrested

Seguin, Texas (July 16, 2022) – Officer Monique Escobedo was injured in a Sunday night crash in north Seguin, according to the Seguin Police Department.

The wreck occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 10, in the 1400 block of Acorn Wood Road.

Officer Escobedo responded to a call for criminal mischief and the victim told Escobedo that Alisen Marie Webster was parked a few down the street.

Officer Escobedo told Webster to pull her car over. Webster stopped momentarily before telling Officer Escobedo to get out of the way.

Webster then drove forward and struck Officer Escobedo with her vehicle. As Webster began accelerating with Officer Escobedo on the hood of the car, Officer Escobedo fired at Webster.

Officer Escobedo was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Webster, who was not hit by any of the shots, was then arrested and booked at Guadalupe County Jail on a charge of attempted capital murder of a peace officer.

She is being held on a bond of $500,000.

The crash remains under investigation.
