James Fortner Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 34 near FM 1390 in Kaufman County

James Fortner Identified as Man Killed in Kaufman County Crash on SH 36 near Scurry

Kaufman County, Texas (February 21, 2019) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Wednesday afternoon in Kaufman County, according to the DPS.
The deadly wreck was reported at about 4 p.m. February 20 on State Highway 34 near FM 1390.
The DPS said a yellow Chevy pickup truck was traveling north on SH 34 when it collided head-on with an oncoming Chevy Camaro for unknown reasons.
According to the report, the driver of the Chevy pickup, identified as James Fortner, 25, of Forney, died at the scene of the crash.
The Camaro driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. Two children riding in the Camaro also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the DPS.
