Jorge Castro Killed in Head-on Crash on SH 359 in Jim Wells County

Jorge Castro Killed in Jim Wells County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 359

Jim Wells County, Texas (December 14, 2021) – A man was killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in Jim Wells County, about two miles south of Orange Grove, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 a.m., December 12, on State Highway 359.

DPS said a Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on the highway when it swerved to avoid hitting a deer and crashed head-on into a Mazda driven by Jorge Castro, 57, of Mexico.

Castro was taken to Spohn Alice Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His passenger was taken to Spohn Alice Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The Camry driver was also taken to Spohn Alice Hospital with serious injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
