Bonnie Byrom Killed in Dawson County Two-Vehicle Crash at SH 349 and U.S. Highway 87
Dawson County, Texas (October 21, 2019) – An 85-year-old Midland woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Dawson County, near Lamesa, according to the DPS.
The crash occurred around 9:00 a.m. October 19, at the intersection of SH 349 and U.S. Highway 87.
DPS said Bonnie Byrom was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on State Highway 349 when she ran a red light at the intersection and attempted to turn left. She then collided with a Chevrolet Avalanche which was heading southbound on US Highway 87.
Byrom was taken to Medical Arts Hospital in Lamesa where she was declared dead.
The Avalanche driver was uninjured in the crash.
An investigation is underway.
