Bret Rendleman Killed in Ellis County Pedestrian Crash on I-45
Ellis County, Texas (June 29, 2019) – Police are investigating an incident that left a pedestrian dead earlier this month in Ellis County, according to a local news source.
The incident took place between 8:54 p.m. and 10:42 p.m. June 10, on Interstate 45 near Newton Road, between Ferris and Palmer.
DPS said Bret L. Rendleman, 30, of Dittmer, Missouri, was walking along the paved sidewalk when he was hit by a maroon 1999 Ford Mustang traveling southbound on I-45.
The driver of the Ford fled the scene after the incident.
Rendleman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
DPS said the vehicle may have damage to the right and front side.
The DPS is conducting an investigation into the incident.
