Bryson McCarty Killed and Lacharotte Carlson Injured in Lubbock County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 1294 and U.S. 84

Lubbock County, Texas (May 24, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, one person was killed, and another was injured early Saturday evening in Lubbock County, near Shallowater.

The fatal crash was reported just after 7:00 p.m., May 22, at the intersection of U.S Highway 84 and Farm-to-Market Road 1294.

DPS said a Chevrolet Traverse SUV was traveling westbound on FM 1294 when it failed to yield the right of way and crashed into a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was traveling southbound on U.S. 84.

The Ford driver, Bryson Grant McCarty, 30, of Littlefield, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver, Lacharotte Carlson, 77, of Anton, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with unknown injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
