Calvin Plummer Jr., Killed in Jefferson Pedestrian Accident on US 59

Jefferson, Texas (August 23, 2020) – The pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on August 10, about three miles south of Jefferson near the Marion/Harrison County Line, has been identified as Calvin Plummer Jr., 29, of Texarkana, according to authorities.

The accident happened sometime between 9:45 p.m. and 10:40 p.m., on US 59.

According to a preliminary investigation, Plummer was walking northbound on the highway in a construction zone when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Plummer was killed in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop to render aid and fled heading northbound.

The DPS is investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to contact the Texas DPS Office in Marshall at 903-935-5108.
