Jimmy Hayes Killed in Tyler Multi-Vehicle Crash on Loop 323 at Pointe N. Drive

Tyler, Texas (May 11, 2023) – A man was killed Wednesday night in a multi-vehicle crash in Tyler, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on May 10, on Loop 323 at Pointe N. Drive.

Police said three vehicles were stopped in the eastbound turn lane of the Loop, waiting to turn northbound onto Pointe N. Drive.

Hayes was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound when he veered left from the straight lane of traffic into the turn lane and hit the rear vehicle stopped in the turn lane. This caused it to be pushed forward into the vehicle in front of it and so on to the next two vehicles.

Hayes was killed in the crash.

Another person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
