Carolina Leyva Killed in Head-On Crash on U.S. 67 in Presidio County

Carolina Leyva Among 2 Women Killed in Presidio County Crash on U.S. 67 near Marfa

Presidio County, Texas (April 13, 2023) – Carolina Rodriguez Leyva, 65, of Presidio, was among two women who were killed in a head-on collision Monday evening in Presidio County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened at around 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, on U.S. 67, just south of Marfa.

DPS said a Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on U.S. 67 when, for an unknown reason, the Ford veered into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with a southbound Chevrolet Traverse, occupied by Leyva and Irma Rodriguez-Dominguez, 59, also of Presidio.

After the collision, the Ford F-150 went off the road and caught fire.

Leyva and Rodriguez-Dominguez were pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the Ford F-150 was taken to an El Paso hospital with internal injuries.

No other details were provided.

DPS is investigating the crash.
