Evan Doss Killed, Benjamin Martinez Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on RM 1061 in Amarillo

Evan Doss Killed and Benjamin Martinez Injured in Amarillo Two-Vehicle Crash on RM 1061 (Boys Ranch Road)

Amarillo, Texas (July 4, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday in Amarillo, according to DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m., on June 2, on RM 1061 (Boys Ranch Road) at FM 2381.

DPS said Evan Doss, 31, of Austin, was driving a 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck towing a 1983 Avion travel trailer, on FM 2381 while Benjamin Martinez,23, of Borger, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck southeast on RM 1061.

Doss ran a stop sign at the intersection and turned left onto RM 1061 directly into the path of Martinez, and the two vehicles collided.

Doss was declared dead at the scene.

Martinez was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
