Cedric Benson and Woman Killed in Austin Motorcycle Accident on Mt. Bonnell Road

Austin, Texas (August 19, 2019) – A former NFL player and a woman were killed Saturday night in a motorcycle accident in west Austin, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:20 p.m. August 17, in the 5600 block of Mt. Bonnell Road.

Authorities said a minivan attempted to cross an intersection and hit a motorcycle ridden by Cedric Benson, 36.

Benson and the woman he was riding with were declared dead at the scene.

Benson retired from football in 2012 following an eight-year NFL career.

An investigation is underway.
