Augustin Garcia ID’d as Man Killed in Weslaco Crash on Dillon Road and Alberta Road

Weslaco, Texas (April 3, 2023) – Authorities have identified the man who died following a head-on collision early Monday morning in Weslaco as Augustin Arcos Garcia, 50, of McAllen.

The deadly crash occurred at around 12:23 a.m. on Dillon Road and Alberta Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Garcia was driving a 2004 silver Buick Regal southbound on Dillion Road when, for an unknown reason, he allowed the vehicle to drift into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling northbound on Dillion Road towards Alberta Road.

Garcia was transported to DHR Health hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

DPS is investigating the crash.
