Cesar Arzate Roman Killed in Houston Three-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway

Houston, Texas – One person was killed and two others were injured Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 4:10 p.m., March 23, in the 6500 block of Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59).

Police said Cesar Arzate Roman, 44, was driving a gray Volkswagen Rabbit southbound on the freeway when he changed lanes and clipped a gray Toyota Corolla. The Volkswagen then struck the rear of a school bus, went partially underneath it, and then struck a concrete exit lane barrier.

Arzate Roman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two male passengers, 44 and 19, in the Volkswagen were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The 22 passengers on the school bus were uninjured in the crash.

The drivers of the bus and the Toyota did not show signs of intoxication and were released.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
