Cody Allen Faust ID’d as Man Killed in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 71 near Covered Bridge Drive

Austin, Texas (December 11, 2019) – The man who was killed Friday morning in a head-on collision in Austin has been identified as 27-year-old Cody Allen Faust, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened just before 7 a.m. December 6, in the 8700 block of W. SH 71 near Covered Bridge Drive.

Police said Faust was driving a grey Toyota Camry eastbound on the highway when he veered into the westbound lanes and struck a white Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.

Faust was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, where he later died.

The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the passenger in the Toyota Camry were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
