Cristo Ramos Killed in Austin Construction Accident on E. Parmer Lane

Austin, Texas (October 17, 2020) – A man was killed in a construction accident Tuesday afternoon in Northeast Austin, according to police.

The accident happened on October 13, in the 200 block of E. Parmer Lane.

Police said 27-year-old Cristo Ramos was part of a crew that was working on sewage lines, which were being accessed through a manhole cover.

Ramos lost his footing and fell through the manhole opening.

The force of the water pressure caused Ramos to get taken into the pipe system. His body was found hours later at the Walnut Creek Water Treatment Facility, 10 miles away from where he fell.

The authorities are conducting the investigation.
