Colton Turner Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 349 in Midland County

Colton Allen Turner Killed in Midland County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 349

Midland County, Texas (January 23, 2023) – One person was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Midland County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:32 a.m., January 21, on State Highway 349, 16 miles south of Midland.

DPS said William Edward Jansen, 66, was driving a trailer in a private drive just west of the highway while Colton Allen Turner, 22, was heading southbound on the highway.

Jansen failed to yield right of way from the private drive and entered the highway, making a left turn heading northbound, resulting in a collision.

Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
