Cynthia Daniels Killed, Dakota Parson Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Hwy 277 in Abilene

71-Year-Old Cynthia Daniels Killed and Dakota Parson Injured in Abilene Two-Car Crash on Highway 277

Abilene, Texas (February 1, 2020) – A woman was killed, and another person was injured in a wrong-way crash in Abilene, according to a police report.

The fatal crash occurred around 8:57 a.m. January 31, in the 3300 block of Highway 277.

According to the report, Cynthia Daniels, 71, of Abilene, was driving a white 2014 Chevrolet Malibu northbound in the southbound lane of the highway when she crashed head-on into a 2014 Dodge pickup truck driven by Dakota Parson of Anson, 24.

Two other southbound vehicles had to divert their direction of travel in order to miss the oncoming Malibu. 

Daniels was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated. She was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Parson was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
