Paul Golibart Killed in Rear-End Collision on State Highway 176 in Martin County

Paul Golibart ID’d as Man Killed in Martin County Crash on State Highway 176 and CR 2601

Martin County, Texas (June 8, 2022) – The man who died following a traffic collision Sunday afternoon in Martin County has been identified as Paul Golibart,59, of San Antonio.

The fatal crash took place on June 5 on State Highway 176.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Golibart and another semi-truck were traveling westbound on State Highway 176 when the semi-truck turned northbound onto CR 2601 and struck Golibart.

Golibart was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck did not stop to render aid to Golibart and fled the scene. The suspect, identified as Christopher Carmen, was arrested and booked into the Martin County Jail for Felony Accident Involving Personal Injury or Death.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
