Dalton Drake Killed in Pedestrian Crash on US 69 in Beaumont

Beaumont, Texas – A man was fatally hit by a car Monday evening in Beaumont, according to the Beaumont Police Department.

The deadly accident occurred around 5:45 p.m., April 22, on the U.S. 69 northbound service road just north of the Jefferson County jail.

Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it failed to take an exit, drove through the grassy median, lost control, and hit Dalton Drake, 24, of Port Neches, who was walking on the service road.

Drake was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was arrested on unrelated warrants.

The police are investigating the crash.
